PREMISE

Mired in a life of squalor due to yakuza debt, 16-year-old orphan Denji fantasizes about video games and having a girlfriend—barely surviving by doing hit jobs on supernatural monsters known as "devils". During a devil-extermination job gone awry, Denji fuses with a devil, becoming the part-devil Chainsaw Man. Denji then receives an ultimatum from Japan’s Public Safety Devil Hunters: be killed as a devil, or join their extermination squad. Since the officer who asked him was cute, Denji agrees, and finds himself at the center of an international human-vs-devil conflict.
