QUICK FACTS

PREMISE

Taking place before, during, and after the Season 1 of both Index and Railgun, electromagnetically-superpowered high-schooler Mikoto Mikasa uncovers the “Sisters” cloning project based on her own DNA. Fighting to end the project, Mikasa faces Academy City’s rival espers, scientists, and underground organizations—with help from her best friends.

LIKED!

+
catchy OP and ED
+
sci-fi intrigue plot
+
gorgeous background art

DISLIKED...

retelling the "Sisters" arc led to confusing plot timing (before, during, and after S1 and S2 of the main series Index, and also S1 of Railgun?!)
second cour was slow & boring until last few eps, and had some animation issues

OTHER THOUGHTS

*crickets*

CLOSING REMARKS

Despite a dip in consistency during the second half, pretty animation, better sci-fi intrigue, and less gratuitous fanservice make for a more focused S2 of Railgun.

A Certain Scientific Railgun S (S2) – 5/10
