PREMISE

One day, a flash of green light turns all of humanity into stone. Thousands of years later, high-school science whiz Senku is first to un-petrify. Senku revives his best friend Taiju, and they team up to apply their knowldge of science to revive humanity and accelerate it out of the stone age.

LIKED!

+
each episode's obstacle being overcome via scientific breakthroughs
+
goofy gag humor bits (talking monkeys, cooking show bit, video game interface overlays)
+
good sound design, and good music, the BGM and also the first OP & ED

DISLIKED...

animation consistency falters towards the end — static shots, low quality side characters
second OP and ED were less energetic
sometimes the show feels like it’s for a childish target demographic

OTHER THOUGHTS

unique character designs—especially for female characters—took some time to get used to

CLOSING REMARKS

Dr. Stone combines the science-meets-stone-age edutainment with gag humor and good production quality—a charming, feel-good watch.
