In the far future, military conglomerates jockey for control over the solar system. Threatened by the Vanadis Institute's breakthrough "GUND Format" brain-computer interface, rival conglomerates outlaw the technology and raid the facility, leaving only two survivors: a scientist mother and her baby. Years after the "Vanadis Incident", a young girl with a suspiciously GUNDam-like mobile suit transfers into the mech cadet school attended by all military conglomerates' heirs...
It has high production value and good Gundam action, but Gundam Mercury suffers grossly from lack of focus. It’s not a competent moe/yuri/slice-of-life, not a good military/school/coming-of-age story, and not an interesting mech/sci-fi/space opera. Pass.
