The CCG police force investigates and combats violent murders commited by gangs of vampire Ghouls. Continuing 2 years after the Aoigiri ghoul gang's attack on the CCG at the end of season 2, the CCG relatiates against its supernatural foes by starting a unit of Inspectors implanted with ghoul powers. This squad is led by a brainwashed Kaneki—himself an Aogiri ghoul—who now hunts his own kind, all while trying to regain his memories.
Season 3 is a soft reboot of Tokyo Ghoul, returning to the source material where Season 2 diverged...and the transition isn't gentle. S3 is not as consistent as prior ones, and felt more stereotypical and "anime-y," in the bad sense. Still worth watching, to continue the Tokyo Ghoul journey.
