QUICK FACTS
PREMISE
Lycoris is a secret Japanese agency which raises an army of orphan schoolgirl assassins to suppress crime and foil terrorism. Trigger-happy and overserious Lycoris agent Tanaki is demoted to a special unit for improper conduct; to redeem herself, Tanaki must work with Lycoris' previous-ace and current-reject, Chisato. They team up to prevent a plot to overthrow Lycoris and destabilize Japan.

CLOSING REMARKS
Lycoris Recoil never stays serious for too long, though it would have been thematically richer if it ventured further into political intrigue or character drama. For this reason, it remains a light-hearted and colorful girls-with-guns anime.
